Radon in Arizona

There is the myth that there is no radon in Arizona. It is myth though. Although Arizona is not one the primary State for Radon presence and Radon levels in Arizona are generally low, there are several sposts where Radon has high level. Especially in the Cave Creek Area.

EAP recommends to test any house, including in Arizona.

And if close to your home there is no Radon, it doesn’t mean it could be in your home. Each house can have different levels of Radon. This is the reason why in Arizona is very important to test radon in each house.

Radon levels in Arizona can often be higher in the summer air conditioning months than during months with milder temperatures.

In our experience as AZ Radon Pros, we did not find a specific area in the Phoenix Valley with Radon and others without. We found high levels of Radon in houses in any place in the valley.

This is an important reason why we decide to provide a free Radon Test Kit in Arizona.

Arizona and Radon Gas

Radon presence in Arizona is similar to the national average.

A state indoor radon sampling survey conducted in 1987-89 by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency suggest that about 1 out of 15 Arizona homes may contain radon concentrations in excess of the EPA recommended action level of 4.0 picocuries per liter of air (4.0pCi/L).
